New record for ispace as Morrisons in Eastbourne gets go ahead
The ispace team is celebrating after one of its latest projects has been granted planning approval, and all in record time. The new 72,000 sq ft Morrisons food store which is set to create 350 new jobs for the town is the perfect example of how innovation can be used to speed up the planning process.
The land for the new megastore was legally contracted in January with a planning application put in at the end of the month. Planning was granted last week, less than 3 months after the initial application was filed – a new record which ispace is understandably very proud of.
Simon Dixon, managing director said: “This is a great achievement and is down to our fantastic team of planning consultants, highways consultants and architects, to name but a few. Working as a team we ensured good communication at all stages of the planning process with local planners, local Ward Councillors, Local MPs and the community, and because of this they really got behind our proposal.
“We overcame any obstacles to planning by thinking outside the box and by looking at creative ways of solving any potential issues. The planning department seemed happy with our approach and we are delighted to be able to move this project along so quickly for our client.”
The Eastbourne Morrisons will help to regenerate part of the town and will bring added convenience to the town’s residents, as well as a number of new local jobs.
